This day long event coordinated by The New Lanark Conservation Trust, under the "BBC Music Live" Banner.

Strathaven Choral Society once again participated in a BBC Music Live event. This time joining forces with Lanark and Carluke Choral Union.

4:00pm to 4:30pm
In the afternoon we performed an abbreviated version (30 minutes) of our successful Family Music Afternoon. This consisted of a brief introduction followed by a performance, including the audience participation of "A Rough and Ready Giude to the Orchestra" by Nigel Don, specially commisioned by Strathaven Choral Society. The Family Music Afternoons are financed with money from BT/NFMS Innovations Award, The Scottish Arts Council National Lottery Fund, North Lanarkshire Council and South Lanarkshire Council.

7:00pm to 8:00pm
We joined forces with Lanark and Carluke Choral Union for an evening of Classical Music.

Works performed included:-
Handel's "Messiah" - And the Glory of the Lord; Hallelujah
Haydn's "Creation" - The heavens are telling; Achieved is the glorious work
Mendelssohn's "Elijah" - Cast thy burden upon the Lord
